The Anti- Corruption Commission was established by the Government of Sierra Leone with the promulgation of the Anti-Corruption Act 2000. It was set up primarily for the prevention, investigation and prosecution of corrupt practices and to educate the public about the evils of corruption. The Anti- Corruption Act was amended in 2008, with the aim of strengthening the ACC to effectively execute its functions and mandate.
