Vetting Process

Candidates who accept this offer will then be asked to complete the ACC’s Assets Declaration and Personal Information Form and Bio data Form.

Before a Contract of Employment can be issued, a careful inquiry will be made into the candidate’s records and antecedents by the Professional Standards Officer to confirm the validity of the information supplied in the original application.


 
Each candidate will be asked to provide inter alia

  • The names of three referees. These referees will be interviewed by ACC personnel to elicit all that is relevant in the candidate’s background.
  • Certified true copies of their certificates
  • Two passport pictures
  • Even after a contract has been offered to an employee, the Commission will conduct a thorough and detailed background check. The same may be done by any independent institution requested by the ACC to do so.
  • Candidates must provide the ACC with accurate and correct answers to all questions and must reveal all material facts relevant to their employment with the ACC. Inaccurate information or the concealment of any material fact will be regarded as grounds for non-employment or summary dismissal from employment and even prosecution.

The ACC is an elite group committed to the highest standards of integrity, honesty and effective service in the fight against corruption.  No person who has been convicted of a criminal offence, other than a minor traffic violation, may be appointed in any capacity whatsoever. Persons dismissed or called upon to resign from the ACC will not be reappointed in any circumstances. Where a person has not been convicted of a crime but is currently being tried of an offence or has faced an administrative process and has been dismissed or terminated or asked to resign from any other institution and whose employment may bring down the standards of the ACC such a person shall not be employed by the Commission.

In exceptional circumstances where the exigencies of the job so demands, the ACC shall conditionally appoint staff members.  In the event that those staff members violated any of the provisions in this document, such staff shall be summarily dismissed.
