SLFA PAYS COURTESY CALL ON ACC

The Executive of the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA), led by its president, Isha Johansen, recently paid a courtesy call on the Commissioner of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), Joseph Fitzgerald Kamara. The event took place at the ACC’s Gloucester Street Head office in Freetown. The main purpose of the visit was to address the ethos of transparency and accountability in the Football Association.

The SLFA President, commended management and staff of the Commission for their achievements and professionalism in the execution of their duties. Ms Johansen assured the Commissioner that the current executive of the FA is prepared to raise the game of football both on and off the pitch including ensuring transparency and accountability in the F.A’s activities. She emphasised that the SLFA is in readiness to collaborate with local and international partners to uphold work ethics, integrity, discipline, transparency and accountability in order to transmit football in a positive light to the public.

In his address, the ACC Commissioner assured the SLFA Executive that the Commission would work towards solidifying its relationship with the Association as part of its coalition building exercise. Mr. Kamara noted that building partnership with the SLFA is vital to the Commission considering the passion Sierra Leoneans display towards football.  He added that the ACC is prepared to join forces with the executive of the SLFA to restore core values in the management of the Association. He suggested that the two organizations conduct joint workshop to discuss accountability, internal control and the prevention of corruption mechanisms in the FA. The ACC Commissioner pledged to fully support the FA to develop a working code to regulate the nation’s football governing body.Start writing here...
