Staff of the Assets Declaration Department and the Information Technology (IT) Unit of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Wednesday, 16th July 2025 benefited from a training on the new Digital Asset Declaration Platform developed by the Directorate of ScienceTechnology, and Innovation (DSTI).

The training took place at the Commission’s conference room, Tower Hill in Freetown. The digital platform aims to further modernize the process by which public officials declare their assets, income, and liabilities in a much more user-friendly manner. It also serves as a key step towards enhancing transparency and accountability in public service, improving compliance and efficiency in the declaration process, and leveraging digital solutions to support the ACC in the fight against corruption.

In his statement, ACC’s Deputy Commissioner, Augustine Foday Ngobie, stressed the importance of the assets declaration exercise in the fight against corruption and the gains made by the Commission in enforcing compliance. He stressed the Commission’s continued efforts to make the exercise an easy and stress-free process to ensure greater compliance. He said the collaboration with DSTI to develop the platform is one of the best endeavors of the Commission. “The collaboration with DSTI is instrumental in ensuring that technology is integrated into the work and operations of the Commission,” he noted.

Welcoming the team from DSTI, the Director of the Assets Declaration Department, ACC, Edita Fofana, emphasized the importance of digitizing the assets declaration process to enhance transparency, compliance, and efficiency in public service. She reaffirmed the ACC’s commitment to leverage technology for good governance.

A representative from DSTI and lead trainer, Tigidankay Bah, reaffirmed DSTI’s commitment to support the fight against corruption by leveraging technology and innovation to enhance the ACC’s work. She presented a detailed walkthrough of the Digital Assets Declaration form, covering dashboard functionalities such as declarant registration, profile setup and submission process.
