ANTI - CORRUPTION COMMISSION CATHEDRAL HOUSE 3 GLOUCESTER STREET FREETOWN SIERRA LEONE, WEST AFRICA 5 th December, 2018 PRESS RELEASE ACC INDICTS PR ESIDENT OF DRIVERS UNION AND DEPUTY The Anti - Corruption Commission (ACC) has indicted ALPHA AMADU BAH , National President of the Motor Drivers and General Transport Workers Union ; DAVID AHMED CONTEH , National Vice President ; and JUDISON LAHAI, National Treasurer ; on offences of Misappropriation of Pub lic Funds , contrary to Section 36(1) , and Conspiracy to Commit a Corruption Offence, contrary to Section 128(1) of the Anti - Corruption Act of 2008, respectively. ALPHA AMADU BAH and JUDISON LAHAI are each charged with seven counts o f Misappropriation of Public Funds, and Conspiracy to Commit a Corruption Offence, DAVID AHMED CONTEH is charged with two counts of Misappropriation of Public F unds, and Conspiracy to Commit a Corruption Offence . The three Executive Member s of the Union, between 2014 and 2016 , conspired to misappropriate the sum of One Hundred and Thirty - two Million Leones (Le 132,000,000 ); funds belonging to , and held on account of , the Motor Drivers and General Transport Workers Union covered under the AC C Mandate .
