The Anti-Corruption Commission has, on Monday 16th October, 2023, officially handed over the keys to its former offices at  Cathedral House, 3 Gloucester Street, Freetown, to its Landlord; St. George's Cathedral, marking the end of its Tenancy.

This official handing over led by the Deputy Commissioner Augustine Foday Ngobie, was witnessed by Directors and other senior staff members of the ACC.

The event commenced with an inspection tour of the various offices with the Church's Engineer and other Adminstrators.

At the handing over ceremony, the ACC Deputy Commissioner thanked the Church for having housed the Commission for little over two decades. He described them as, very good Landlords since they provided the Commission with the enabling environment to do its work, and the amplitude for its huge successes especially in the past five years. "This is a huge contribution the Church made towards the development of Sierra Leone", the DC averred.

Mr. Ngobie furthered that in spite of some other challenges the Commission faced whilst at that office because of its growing strength and nature of its work, the Church he maintained provided its support and that will form a key part in the Commission's history.

Mrs. Estina Kabia, Treasurer of the St. George's Cathedral Church thanked the Commission for not only being an equally fine tenant, but also for giving sufficient notice to the church about its movement to its Integrity House. She disclosed that the Commission provided security for the Church by its presence and that immediately the Commission left, the situation deteriorated, and they started to face security challenges.

She added that the Church will have its Engineer do a report on the assessment of the current state of the building at the time of the inspection and will share same with the Commission.

The Deputy Commissioner officially handed over the keys of the building, marking an historic end of its stay at the famous 3 Gloucester Street ACC Offices in Freetown.

Mr. Ngobie also left with a beam of smiles on the face of the Church when he disclosed that the Commission as part of its sign of support and appreciation to the church, will leave its two 5000 giant Milla Water Tanks for use by the Church.
