The Executive Director of the Zero Corruption Campaign (ZCC), Elison John, has on Monday 20th March 2023, at the Headquarters of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), 3 Gloucester Street, in Freetown, presented a meritorious Award to the People’s Deputy Commissioner of the ACC, Augustine Foday Ngobie.

Presenting the Award, Elison John appreciated the leadership of the ACC for its unwavering commitment to the fight against corruption, which he said has in no small way rebranded the image of Sierra Leone.

He stated that since the signing of a formal partnership pact between the ACC and ZCC some four years ago, his organization (ZCC) appreciates the good work of the ACC and encourages the Commission to continue in that regard.

He stated that despite the prevailing circumstances, the leadership at the ACC has been doing a phenomenal work.

"This event is aimed at both appreciating them and motivating others to continue to give their best", stated Elison. He then congratulated the Deputy ACC Czar and urged him to keep doing well for the people of Sierra Leone.

Receiving the Award, Mr. Ngobie thanked the ZCC for the thoughtful and meaningful Awards. He stated that the ZCC has been a worthy partner of the ACC and encouraged them to continue doing more.

He furthered that the campaign against corruption is a national campaign that requires the undivided efforts of all, especially young persons, "who are by far the worst affected by corruption and could as well benefit from a corrupt free Sierra Leone”

It could be recalled that, the maiden National Integrity Awards ceremony was held by the ZCC on the 18th March 2023, in order to identify individuals and institutions, both private and public that have exhibited remarkable and outstanding integrity in the dispensation of their works.

The Deputy Commissioner bagged the award in recognition of his "Remarkable efforts in promoting the fight against corruption in Sierra Leone"

This is among the over 20 Awards the Deputy Commissioner of ACC has bagged as he serves in this capacity at the ACC.
